“For the first time in my life, I can complete a plank workout and do a legitimate pushup on my hands and toes.”
— TERI, AGE 49
Through a friend’s recommendation, a little over a year ago I made an appointment to see Schmid Etienne at SE2 for hip and knee pain. Having had three knee surgeries due to soccer injuries and a severe case of planter fasciitis, I was nervous that I would have to quit my new Tae-Kwon-Do work out and passion.
Within a few short weeks, the hip pain had disappeared and the knee pain shortly thereafter. After the pain went away we were able to focus on core stability and combatting the negative impact of a job that requires a car commute.
For the first time in my life, I can complete a plank workout and do a legitimate pushup on my hands and toes. Strength and being pain-free were my early focus but as the year went on, weight loss became a goal and I ended 2015 fourteen pounds lighter than it started. In a few months, I will be testing for my black belt in Tae Kwon Do and later this year I turn the big 50.
I am not sure what my goals will be after the black belt, but I am sure Schmid will help me get there in one piece and stronger than ever.
